<Mat2ch> .oO( the french way of fighting ;)
<GlassYuri> "I need your signature on this document" "can't you fill it out and add my signature by yourself?"
<Mat2ch> That was a stupid question.
<Mat2ch> There are only a few. But that is one.
<darsie> A former flat mate of mine asked if he could get register at my address and I said I won't do that, but it would be ok if he filled out the form and forged the signature.

<Eddi|zuHause> i seem to have missed the explanation why decoupling while spinning results in a speed gain?
<Fluburtur> so some dudes decided to rebuild a century old maurane saulnier and fly it http://replicair.fr/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Morane_Fayence-1.jpg
<Mat2ch> Eddi|zuHause: in the rotation is energy stored. If you decouple this energy will split between the two parts. The heavier one will stay almost in the same place, but the lighter part will be flung away.
<Mat2ch> Just like a catapult does it
<darsie> Eddi|zuHause: The payload rotates about the COM and has a different velocity as the COM. When released, it will keep going at its current velocity.
<Mat2ch> darsie: that's far better explained :)
<Eddi|zuHause> i find it difficult to see where the payload and COM are
<Mat2ch> the CoM is right in the middle of the rotation
<darsie> COM is where there is only rotation, but no displacement.
<Eddi|zuHause> he says he's timing things right, but doesn't say what he's looking at for that timming
<darsie> Has to release when the payload is moving prograde.
<Eddi|zuHause> yes. but that's missing from the video
<darsie> Maybe he's lucky, maybe he's good, maybe he does it many times till he gets it right.
<Mat2ch> I think he thought that would be clear
<Mat2ch> it's like a trebouchet
<Mat2ch> I bet on many times ;)
<JVFoxy> watch'n that jet engine to space video posted earlier?
<darsie> What's he using as bearing?
<Mat2ch> JVFoxy: jep
<JVFoxy> guessing just your usual hanky when it comes to stock bearings. question is, how does it stay together before he launches?
<darsie> hanky?
<Eddi|zuHause> yeah, i guess he's doing it many times, but i don't think the game keeps rotational energy during reload, so he has to restart from the runway every time?
<JVFoxy> wanna see what happens if he physic warps
<Mat2ch> JVFoxy: autostruts.
<JVFoxy> darsie I've only seen a few versions of bearings done in stock games. Usually when people try to do electric props. Use a tube, some small parts to sit around it. Game does some collision meshing thing to keep it all in place.
<JVFoxy> autostruts can only go so far... ?
<darsie> I made bearings from cubic struts.
<darsie> With reaction wheel and paddles for propulsion when floating in water.
<JVFoxy> didn't think paddle wheel idea worked in KSP..
<darsie> It worked ... a bit.
<JVFoxy> didn't think game knows how to figure out paddles in water...
<JVFoxy> then again.. jet engines underwater... eh..
<Eddi|zuHause> ... that page gives me an access denied message
<Eddi|zuHause> ... and a weird one at that
<Eddi|zuHause> <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><Error><Code>AccessDenied</Code><Message>Access denied.</Message><Details>Anonymous caller does not have storage.objects.get access to discord/attachments/186186471202357249/572041896411529227/unknown.png.</Details></Error>

<kubi> I want to build my PC into the desk
<kubi> is there any good solution for USB and audio connectors that I can build into the desk?
JVFoxy has quit [Quit: webchat.esper.net]
<Eddi|zuHause> make a hole, put a cover on it?
<Eddi|zuHause> i mean the same kind of cover you'd put in a regular case's front panel
<kubi> I've found USB+audio
<kubi> but nopower button
<Eddi|zuHause> i've never seen "modular" power buttons
<Eddi|zuHause> they always seem to be designed for that one specific case
<kubi> as a last resort, I have some momentary buttons, so might be a solution
<Eddi|zuHause> you just need two cables to plug into the mainboard, right?
<kubi> yes
<Eddi|zuHause> so any button would do
<kubi> and maybe one for the power LED as the button has built in light
<Eddi|zuHause> that's probably 4 wires, then
<Fluburtur> I had a really bad noise problem with the bass, turns out I just did a wiring mistake
<Fluburtur> I inverted signal and ground on the audio jack, I still had sound on the output but the shielding was innefective and acted an antenna
<kubi> I started to hate the big computer box and the amplifier taking a lot of space
<Fluburtur> now it is 100% quiet
<Eddi|zuHause> you make your own cables?
<Fluburtur> wow thats how you properly put on a show https://youtu.be/3Y1lXtGi8zc

<christel> Good day! My name is Christel, Head Staffer and Community Manager of Freenode.
<christel> As you may well know, Freenode has been a frequent target of trolls, spambots, and scammers since its very inception. Despite this, we are the premire FOSS collaboration platform on the Internet. Our team of staffers and even Mark Shuttleworth himself have worked dilligently to ensure Freenode remains a safe, supportive platform where the FOSS commununity can thrive. The costs of network monitoring and the lawsuits
<christel> mounted by Larry Ellison and Oracle have presented challenges to Freenode's very survival.
<christel> Mark Shuttleworth and Freenode staff have now unveiled the Make Freenode Great Again plan! Partnering with Huawei, we are in the process of installing an intelligent firewall that will defend against any DDOS or massive spambot operation using Huawei's predictive computing technology, the same software used to track and control China's Uighur Muslim minority.
<christel> Trolls will be recognized based on these predictive patterns and automatically blocked. This system, however, will be costly, and we need your help paying for licensing and installation.
