<blowfish> cool. Any observations. I don't think the model is perfect yet, but it's an improvement I would say
<JeeF> it's much better. After it gets going, it gets going. I wasn't able to reach decent speeds to really get it going with a pair of SU27 engines on afterburner mode and 2 ramjets trying to help push it. Aircraft sculpted as slipstream as possible. Got stuck at mach 2.9, but I could definitely see the ramjet increasing in thrust. Then I replaced the SU27 jets with J58s and voilá. Mach 6

<JeeF> Now if I had to say something that might need tuning is the thrust it gives at speeds of mach 2-3
<JeeF> could use about 10-15% bump
<JeeF> After mach 3 it flies, but just below mach 3 it's kinda dead
<JeeF> After mach 3.2-ish, the ramjet has enough thrust to push the aircraft to go faster, hence giving itself more intake air and going even faster. But just below mach 3, has no push at all on it's own and it starts losing speed
<JeeF> Now, I don't know if this is intended...
<JeeF> It has always been my understanding that the thrust is gradual, smoother thurst curve, from mach 0.5 to mach 3

<stratochief> yeah, my understanding (and review of the wiki) suggests that mach 2-3 is where the thrust actually starts to pick up, with 3.0 or 3.change where they can compete with and beat non-ramjets

<JeeF> they are reeeally weak below 3.5

<stratochief> basically, look at the RealPlume config for whatever part you're using, change to use a different pre-fab that is more blue or to your liking

For low speeds and high maneuverability, increasing it to around 30 degrees, and for when I'm hypersonic, as low as 2 degrees. Is there a mod that does that automatically for you?
