<Rokker> guys, whats the EC vs watt comparison again?
<waerloga> looks to be 1EC(/s) = 1kW(h)
<Rokker> waerloga: so 3600 EC/kW?
<Rokker> no wait
<waerloga> 1EC = 1KW
<waerloga> or 1EC/s = 1kW/h
<Rokker> right
<waerloga> or 1EC/s = 1kWh*
<waerloga> which is a bit puzzling to me
<waerloga> but I wrote it out it was in the thread
<Rokker> anyways
<Rokker> look at this beauty of early rocket technology https://i.ytimg.com/vi/jLFmI-KQShM/maxresdefault.jpg
<waerloga> what am I seeing
<waerloga> cooling jacket over almost all the parts of the rocket?
<Rokker> waerloga: its a bit hard to figure out, but afaict its off a corporal rocket
<waerloga> well, the name plate might have helped :P
<waerloga> and naturally a banana for scale
<Rokker> waerloga: not my picture
<Rokker> I watched the video that showed the nameplate but it has conflicting and confusing info
<waerloga> ah
<Rokker> waerloga: so as far as i can tell, it's either
<Rokker> fucking rain
<waerloga> indeed
<Rokker> waerloga: so it looks like it's an engine from the wac corporals used on the bumpers
<Rokker> and it might be a piece taken directly off a bumper
<waerloga> just odd seeing the cooling spiral that high up?
<Rokker> but I'm not sure
<Rokker> waerloga: if it is a used one, it's off of the record setting Bumper 5
<Rokker> waerloga: and if I had to bet on the spiraling, they just hadn't figured out great cooling yet

<waerloga> makes sense
<waerloga> it'd keep the combustion chamber cool too
<JeeF> Hey guys, quick question, which is the mod that adds the Aerobee to RO?
<Rokker> kek, I always assumed it was stock
<Rokker> idk*
<JeeF> I've added all the dependencies for RO (new install) and I can see all the starting parts I normally do for career (RP-0), I just don't see the Aerobee.
<JeeF> I had this issue once before long ago, can't remember what I did to fix it
<Rokker> JeeF: gimme a moment to double check since no competent people are answering
<JeeF> Really thought it would be "Taerobee", but I have that added
<JeeF> It's working fine (Taerobee) cos I can see the Tiny Tim in the part list
<Rokker> JeeF: should be stock
<JeeF> I've just found an Aerobee, in the non-rp0 list, but looks nothing like the old one I'm used to
<Rokker> JeeF: version?
<JeeF> New build for 1.2.2
<JeeF> Followed everything to the letter
<Rokker> SirKeplan: any ideas?
<JeeF> All the dev builds
<JeeF> One other question, that I always forgot to ask before, but now I'm buildng the first sounding rocket I saw again, might as well ask: Why the heck are all the fuel tanks always configured to use only 86% total capacity?
<SirKeplan> Not yet, it should be there without any mod requirments
<JeeF> If there's a historical/realistic reason behind it, Id love to hear
<Rokker> JeeF: iirc that's like the average volume difference between the tanks and the skin or something like that
<SirKeplan> JeeF: as i understand it's for realism to approximate a realistic amount in a tank, taking into account things like curved tank caps.
<JeeF> I see
<JeeF> ty =)
<SirKeplan> and it's sometimes useful for getting a precise volume in when copying real rockets
<SirKeplan> JeeF: so you have RP-0 installed do you?
<SirKeplan> or just RO?
<waerloga> iirc, the aerobee engine is part of SXT or...
<waerloga> the other one
<SirKeplan> oh, you said there is an aerobee but it looks different, that would be SXT you need to install
<SirKeplan> JeeF: ^
leudaimon has joined #RO
<SirKeplan> JeeF: woops, i means VenStockRevamp
<waerloga> ah that's the one
<waerloga> I coudln't remember
<waerloga> both muck with stock a bit
<waerloga> or borrow 'stock'
<SirKeplan> yeah i mix those two up all the time :P
<JeeF> RSS+RO+RP-0
<JeeF> Launched my first sounding rocket. It went up fine, but there's no flame or plume coming out of the engine
<JeeF> zero effects
<JeeF> SXT Continued is installed
<JeeF> hmm... I just realized Real Plume is not installed... I could swear I did
<JeeF> My bad
<SirKeplan> yeah that could be an issue for that :P
<JeeF> So just by installing TweakScale I can screw up parts, regardless of me rescaling them or not in the VAB, cos of the patch that is applied to that part when starting the game, correct?
<JeeF> I do like having TS installed for the eventual need to fine-tune the size of a fin or a solar panel
<JeeF> But I've heard many times that it doesn't play well with RO
<JeeF> That was ages ago. Still true?
<ale260382> RO deactivates of modifies TS configuration for many parts
<JeeF> Interesting... so they do work together now
<ale260382> but i think it'll be no problem with a fin, panel, tank or any other structural part
<JeeF> I never did resize engines, but for certain things like girders or fins or batteries (before procedural ones) it was really necessary
<JeeF> I'll give it a shot
<JeeF> ty
