Probus: ahh. did they merge with someone else, or did everybody just move out of Nebraska, get planted in full corn or get one big livestock fence?
<Probus>
lol, I think it was the second one. :)

Note to self, Kerbals don't like 55 gees.
<Sarbian>
(given RO loadtime you may want to press Numpad 0 in the loading screen to at least see if it does crash the game or not)
<SirKeplan>
ok
schnobs has quit [Ping timeout: 194 seconds]
<SirKeplan>
Sarbian: ok, well it hasn't crashed yet, i have a black 2nd window that opened up
<SirKeplan>
game still loading
<egg>
Sarbian: welp, I have only one monitor :-p
<egg>
also I am rather busy with trying to update principia to 1.2 anyway
* egg
goes back to the principia mines
<Sarbian>
Probus: poke, see a few line up
<stratochief>
is ballooncryo the most insulative tank, aside from ServiceModule?
<Probus>
Sweet Sarbian!
<stratochief>
Sarbian: nice, thanks for sharing. I'll try that out today
<stratochief>
egg: only 1 monitor?! true poverty
<egg>
it's a big monitor though
<stratochief>
egg: also, I'd call the "principia mines" the "gravity well"

egg: I added the explanation for this acronym.
<SirKeplan>
Sarbian: looks cool!
<SirKeplan>
Sarbian: except i have this odd bug, trying to rotate the view with the mouse the primary screen is affecting the secondary screen instead
<Sarbian>
try pressing 0 twice to reset the lock.
<SirKeplan>
Sarbian: ah, yep just realised that does it
<Sarbian>
I think I forgot to reset the lock on scene changes
<SirKeplan>
might not be a bug then, not sure

how to prevent cryogenic tanks from randomly overheating and exploding during launch
<piratepengu>
Can anyone hear me?
<stratochief>
piratepengu: since that isn't a common problem or known issue, sounds like you've got a mod or two out of whack
<piratepengu>
hmmmm
<piratepengu>
Let me try doing a higher ascent angle to get out of the atmosphere quicker
<stratochief>
piratepengu: hmm, odd. have you tried putting the tank within the fairing, like real Centaur bearing vehicles do?
<piratepengu>
Yes if the tank isn't head on into the wind it does not explode
<piratepengu>
and there's no overheating until I get to about 70km up and then any exposed cryo tanks overheat very quickly
<stratochief>
if you think it might be an issue with mods, like I do, I'd suggesting at this, noting down all the info about your install, versions of mods, etc.
<stratochief>
piratepengu: then posting it on the forum, linking to your post here so we can see it and provide info once information is there for us to provide educated suggestions
<stratochief>
piratepengu: like, it could be an issue with your version of RealHeat, if you even have RealHeat at all. did you use rsparkyc's Google sheet to make sure you've got the right versions of mods
<stratochief>
piratepengu: no offense, but you didn't even tell us what version of KSP you have, so any guesses about what the problem is from me at this point without any info would be entirely uneducated
<piratepengu>
Hmmmm I've been having the issue across multiple versions, but the one which I am in right now is 1.1.3
<piratepengu>
lmao I'm stupid I had it set to balloon cryo
<stratochief>
balloon cryo isn't bad. if you want to use it though, probably better to put it within a fairing?

<piratepengu>
yeah it looks like that's what I'll have to do
<piratepengu>
the regular cryo tank still overheated, but I could stop the overheating by pointing the rocket prograde so the atmosphere wasn't hitting the cryo tank
<piratepengu>
but that meant I had to keep the rocket prograde from 70-100km
egg is now known as egg|nomz|egg
<piratepengu>
alright increased angle of ascent with regular cryo tanks and there was no overheating
