<Althego>
yes
<Althego>
so if they didnt switch we might have seen the landing too from the rocket
<Althego>
i am waiting for a successful 10th landing
<raptop>
So, uh, the first shuttle to sucessfully fly 10 consecutive missions was Discovery in October 1990. (Challenger would have done so in 1986, but its 10th launch was STS-51L)
<Althego>
of falcon 9
<raptop>
Yeah, I'm just grabbing the obvious reusable system for comparison purposes
<raptop>
So about a decade from the first flight to 10th reuse
<umaxtu>
the shuttle was much more complex than F9 S1
<raptop>
Given how ready the shuttles were supposed to be for reuse in 1981, and how it was a capability that was only planned but not really there for the first F9s in 2010, the slower pace seems fine?
<Althego>
