<hatrix>
I got some of the retro posters of NASA printed at work
<darsie>
raptop: I don't understand why Mercury is closer and Venus further away than the Sun.
<raptop>
darsie: geocentric coordinate system, and mercury was close at the date in 2003 that the map uses
<darsie>
ok
<raptop>
something something conjunction something opposition
<darsie>
Mercury and Venus don't go to Sun opposition.
<darsie>
Also I don't really understand the x axis.
<raptop>
Right ascension, with the map mostly being a slice along the celestial equator
<packbart>
ah, I was guessing it to be some sort of scan angle, with ~24h = 360°. the offset didn't match, though

<raptop>
24 h does = 360 degrees for this, though I'm not sure what the lattitude machup would be
<raptop>
"Galaxies with redshifts larger than 1.69 today are unreachable. This is a surprisingly small redshift."
<darsie>
Is it the RA?
<raptop>
yeah
<darsie>
The blue stuff are the matter filaments?
<raptop>
Yeah. galaxies/clsuters clumping together into the large scale structure
<darsie>
And the zone of avoidance is the milky way blocking view?
<raptop>
yep
<darsie>
km is a too common unit for distances in space without adding much comprehensibility. Maybe we should have made km our base distance unit.
<darsie>
KSP being a notable exception.
<darsie>
Switching between km, LD, AU, ly, pc doesn't do much good.
<raptop>
And then for the really large distances, z <_<
<darsie>
mhm
<darsie>
We don't have SI prefixes for that.

<Ivanlol151>
Ican do question about kerbal space program?
<Althego>
yesú
<Ivanlol151>
These is the question:my game is charging a long time and i have a good PC, I have mods
<Althego>
this is not a question. so you want to know how to make it faster? aside from removing the mods, or at least some of them, it is probably not going to start faster
<Mat2ch>
Ivanlol151: ksp is very slow when starting thanks to the Unity engine. Having a fast ssd helps, but not that much. More mods means longer startup time
